Concert Entertains While Helping Schools
One of the main activities of Building Bridges is a Children's Concert series held at the Dean Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. During the Expo, one of the regular performance groups and three organizations auditioning for the concerts will perform. Their performances begin at 11 a.m. on Oct. 26.
This pilot program is designed to bring together Contra Costa County school districts, citites, companies, service clubs, agencies and other organizations in a collaborative effort to solve problems in the schools.
The theme for the series, which starts on Nov. 21, is "Competition or Cooperation?" Professional entertainers perform music, juggle, sing, dance and act in the show, teaching children the value of cooperation.
